New Consulting Rooms
20 March 2009
The Practice is pleased to announce an important new project to provide additional consulting rooms at Adwalton House Surgery.
This expansion of our services involves conversion of the top floor of the building, resulting in four extra consulting rooms. The rooms will be specifically for the use of GP Registrars, qualified doctors who join the Practice for general practice experience, and will provide a dedicated on-the-job training environment.
Working in conjunction with the Yorkshire Deanery, for over twenty years we have been providing training facilities for a minimum of four GP Registrars annually and the proposed remodelling will enable us to double that number, thus helping to increase the supply of qualified GPs in the NHS. Our patients, too, will benefit from the provision of more appointments - improving access to a Doctor being something we constantly strive for.
Work begins on the alterations on 1st April 2009 and is expected to be completed well in time to accommodate the first additional intake of GP Registrars in early August 2009.
