Windsor House Group Practice has been a Training Practice since 1986 and takes great pride in the training and support it gives to its GP Registrars and medical students.
Adwalton House Surgery
In 2003 the site for our new surgery, Adwalton House, was acquired in Drighlington. The village lies between Leeds and Bradford. It is convenient for Leeds/Bradford International Airport, the M1/M62 motorway networks and all other major routes in West Yorkshire.
The site was cleared and developed over a period of 15 months, the result of the £2.4million project being a medical centre offering high quality healthcare to 15,000 patients, together with ancillary services in the form of both traditional and complementary treatments.
The new surgery was an opportunity to provide an enhanced working environment for our trainees, together with a comprehensive medical library.
In keeping with the high standards and professional approach applied to the development as a whole, the Adwalton House Surgery complex incorporates two large training rooms, the Cavendish Suite and the Devonshire Suite, which comprise dedicated space for seminars/conferences/meetings available for private hire.
Floor plan - Training Suites
Located on the middle floor of the building, accessible by both stairs and stretcher lift, the training rooms are among the best equipped in the region and provide user-friendly interaction with state-of-the-art electronic audio-visual equipment. Modern, high quality furnishings also ensure a pleasant, comfortable environment for attendees.
The Dowager Duchess of Devonshire dedicates the Training Suites
We were delighted to welcome the Dowager Duchess of Devonshire in September 2004 to perform the dedication ceremony of the Training Suites. Historically, a distant ancestor of the Duke of Devonshire had led his army to victory at the Battle of Adwalton Moor during the English Civil War. The Training Suites were named in honour of the family and it seemed appropriate for a present day representative to set the seal on the project.
There are also three further Suites situated on the top floor available for rental by ancillary medical therapists and allied health professionals.
