Shenstone House

Shenstone House is situated on Elland Road in Churwell adjacent to the Co-Op Pharmacy.

It was converted in 1991 from an existing detached house with the addition of a single storey extension. It offers four consulting rooms, spacious treatment/minor surgery room, a large comfortable waiting room, toilets with disabled facilities and administrative offices, all of which are furnished to the same high specification as the main surgery in Morley and in keeping with our corporate policy on standards of patient care.

Appointments can be made by calling in at the Surgery or by telephone. Please note that all telephone calls are recorded for training and security purposes.

Clinicians

Wherever possible all clinical personnel attend at each surgery location on a regular basis so that all patients have an opportunity to see the doctor or nurse of their choice. The Receptionists will be able to confirm when a clinician is scheduled to be at a particular surgery.

Staff

As a group practice our Staff work at the three different surgeries from time to time, but for continuity they each have a base.

The surgery is managed by Ms Elizabeth Field, assisted by Receptionists, Mrs Diane Furness and Mrs Ann Kinsey, who deal with general enquiries, patient requests for appointments at all three surgeries, repeat prescription etc.

Mrs Maureen Naylor, the Finance Manager, is based at Shenstone House. She works closely with Mrs Lawson, the Business Partner, dealing with all operational financial matters of the Practice.

Clinics

The well-equipped treatment room with fully qualified Nursing Staff in attendence provides a wide range of health promotion clinics and family planning etc. Please telephone any of the surgeries to arrange appointments.

An asthma clinic is usually held on Mondays. Sister Nicki Pye is also happy to accommodate patients in her general clinics. Please inform the receptionist that the appointment is regarding asthma so that sufficient time can be allocated.

Ante-natal clinic is held on Friday mornings.

The Health Visitors run a clinic for baby-weighing only on alternate Tuesdays.

Attached Personnel

To complete the team working from Shenstone House Surgery we have the services of District Nurses, Health Visitors, Community Midwives and Counsellors who will provide you with a comprehensive service.
